Here are a few things to consider before choosing a metal fabricator.

1. Does the company have an understanding of the products you require?

2. Does the company have a good record for on time deliveries?

3. Does the company work in a range of mediums e.g. stainless steel, mild steel, chrome, etc.

4. Is the company prepared to incorporate mediums such as stone, glass or acrylic should the design require this?

5. Does the company understand the concept e.g. the different requirements between a men’s clothing boutique and a lady’s lingerie shop? What happens in a hot dip galvanized process, can galvanized products be powder coated etc. It is of utmost importance for the supplier to have this knowledge as without it, it could damage your project.

6. Does the company have the expertise to modify the design, in order to manufacture a safe product. An unstable or inappropriate design can cause a lot of damage financially and emotionally.

7. Does the company have any in house design facilities, or do they only manufacture as per drawing, avoiding any responsibility for incorrect design?

8. Is the company easily contactable and easy to communicate with?
